Justice On Trial in Kafkas The Trial Essay -- Kafka Trial Essays

Justice On Trial in Kafkas The TrialThere is no such thing as justice - in or step up of court. Clarence Darrow i Most often critically interpreted as a search for Divine justice, Kafkas The Trial, a fragmented and unfinished novel, appears to leave us with the homogeneous impression as the words above of Clarence Darrow. In other words, there is no justice. This assessment of Divine justice by Kafka works on ii levels. On one level, he is illustrating the helpless nature of the individual when in conflict against an established bureaucracy. On another level, he is illustrating the existential dilemma of macrocosm in the face of a godless, indifferent, and often hostile universe. A search for justice by Josef K. rise ups no justice in either realm. Josef K. awakes one break of day to find himself accused by a mysterious legal authority Someone must have been spreading lies about Josef K., for without having done anything wrong he was arrested one fine morning.ii His crime is u nnamed, one of which he knows nothing. The novel follows his many attempts to obtain justice from authorities with which he cannot communicate well. Josef K.s attempt to find justice end in his utter frustration, his complete loss of human dignity, and his cruel death by stabbing. The Trial is also meant to symbolize original offense and misdeed. On the level of the individual versus the bureaucracy, Josef K. is consumed by guilt and condemned for a crime he does not understand by a court with which he cannot communicate. We hit this same dilemma on the level of the individual versus an existential existence, i.e., man in the modern world trying to find meaning and justice, consumed by guilt and condemned for original sin by a god with which he ca... ...Solzhenitsyn, A. Southerland 1 CPRThere may come a time in your life when a person you know and love will have some type of medical emergency during which they will need help to survive. Whether something gets stuck in the airway or the heart stops beating, lost minutes can be fatal. The best way to be prepared for something like this is to know how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).If you have a baby under a year old that seems to be struggling for air and might even havestarted to disco biscuit blue, what would you do? If you knew CPR, you could very possibly save a life.First, you will need to assess the situation. Look, listen, and feel for breathing. If the baby is not breathing but is moving its implements of war and legs, lay the baby face down in your lap toward your feet. Be sure to support the babys head, and make sure the head is demoralise than its body. Perform five back blows between the babys shoulder blades. This should dislodge anything that is stuck in its airway. Now, t urn the baby over and preform five actors assistant thrusts, by placing your third and fourth fingers a half inch below the nipples in the center of the agency and making compressions a half-inch deep. Next, look into the babys mouth for any foreign object. If you see anything in the babys mouth, stick your finger into the babys mouth to remove the foreign object. If you wear upont see an object, then repeat the process. If the baby becomes unconscious, then call 911. Try to stay calm because if you lose control, you wont be able-bodied to help. Now, if the baby is not breathing or moving, you will need to gently tap him/her on the shoulder and shout. If there is no response, you will need to let down infant CPR. To do this, you will need to place the baby on its back. Tilt the head back slightly to open the airway. Make sure you adoptt tilt the head too far, or you could hurt the neck. If the baby is still not breathing, cover his/her mouth and nose with Southerland 2your mo uth and leap two small puffs of breath. Each breath should be one and a half to two seconds long. You should see the babys chest rise with individually breath. Next, position your third and fourth fingers in the center of the babys chest half an inch below the nipples, and give five gentle chest compressions at the rate of 100 compressions per minute.

Alarming Side Effects of Artificial Sweeteners Essay -- Exploratory Es

Alarming Side Effects of Artificial SweetenersNutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, and Equal-Measure are all brand names for aspartame, a low calorie sugar refilling used in more than 90 countries to sweeten foods and beverages. Aspartame is a synthetic chemical that is created through the combination of the amino acids phenylalanine and aspartic acid, and a small amount of methanol. Aspartame stooge be found in several ingatherings, such as soft drinks, over-the counter drugs, vitamin and herb supplements, instant breakfasts, candy, breath mints, cereals, sugar-free chewing gum, coffee, juice, and tea beverages, tabletop lures, and gelatin desserts. This product may crap seemed like a dream come true when it was first invented in 1981 because its use can substantially lower the number of calories in food and beverage products by substituting the place of sugar. Despite its desirable qualities, the use of aspartame has been controversial since its creation due to its negative side effe cts that have been linked to the use of the chemically produced sugar. Due to the ever increasing use of aspartame, researchers have discovered that aspartame has been closely associated with the function of the brain. In the human brain, there is a blood-brain barrier that acts as a system of specialized capillary structures that are designed to prevent toxic substances from entering the brain. Prior to birth and during the first 12 months of life, the blood-brain barrier is incomplete. The protective enzymes in a babys brain are still immature, and therefore are unable to effectively detoxify the excitotoxins, toxins that reserve to certain receptors and may cause neuronal cell death when they enter the brain. This would mean that in the case o... ...t pain, headaches, equilibrium problems and manic depression. The Desert Storm misfortune proved that aspartame is indeed harmful when consumed in excess or when consumed in general. Overall, the consumption of aspartame is not so beneficial. The chemical component of aspartame may be garbled down to chemical substances that are potentially harmful and may lead to symptoms such as headaches, vision impairment, hearing loss, memory loss, fatigue, dizziness, and eventually brain tumors. The sweetener may have been developed to lower the amount of calories and be a sugar substitute, but its creation has only produced medical attention. The consumption of aspartame should be trammel or not be consumed at all in order to prevent symptoms from occurring. The creation of aspartame may not be so sweet afterward all. Candide :: essays research papers

Candide     Voltaires Candide is a novel which contains enlightmenet and at the same time is also exaggerated. Voltaire offers disguised by jokes and sarcisam, and the story itself presents a distinctive outlook on life in the 1700s. The crucial contrast in the story deals with irrational ideas as taught to Candide about being optimistic, versus reality as viewed by the rest of the world.     The main theme that I got out of reading Candide is optimism. Out of every unfortunate situation in the story, Candide, the main character, has been advised by his philosopher-teacher that everything in the world happens for the better, because "Private misfortunes contri scarcee to the general good, so that the more private misfortunes there are, the more we find that all is well".     As Candide grows up whenever something unfortunate happens Pangloss would turn the situation around, bringing out the good in it. Candide learn s that optimism is "The passion for maintaining that all is right when all goes wrong ". Candide also believes that he could constrain the world a better place by spreading his theories on optimism. One could say that Pangloss is an irrational figure, and Voltaire tries to expose how incomprehensible his beliefs are which do not measure up to reality. It is possible, however, that all along, deep down inside, Candide doubted the philosophies of his teacher because of his exposure to immorality in the real world. For example, Candide witnessed the public hanging of two Portuguese Jews simply because they refused to eat bacon for dinner. It was occurrences like these which demonstrated the inhumanity that one person can do to another, leading Candide to disbelieve Pangloss philosophies. Cunegonde, the object of Candides affections, was thought dead by Candide but she had really been raped and sold into slavery.

Decentralized system of government Essay

Since the advent of governing body and the rise of the new world, there has been debates on the best ways of policy-making regime. The debates accept been echoed in even higher institutions in the land, such World Bank and the United Nations. There are those who have been advocating for the substitutionized establishment of government, line of reasoning that it easier to manage security and there is unless one chain of communication. However, advocates of the deconcentrate government argue that it promotes and presence to the citizenry. Both the supporters of centralized and decentralized frame governments have each pointed to their model states. These are the facts, but a decentralized form of government have proved more beneficial and effective to the centralized system of government. While decentralization may cause duplication of roles, the decentralized government brings more to the people who this instant have a say in their governance because it improves service deli very, helps people move into more in their governance, and it is very efficient and easily accessible.A decentralized system of government reduces the concentration of power by the matter government. In recent times, there has been instances where a centralized government has abused its powers to either deny citizens their rights and excessive dominance. This usually happens the power lies only with the central government and nobody can bind its excess therefore easily abused. According to Lipson (1993), when the power is devolved to smaller units it creates self regulation as the smaller units check for excessive use of power between them. For example, in the United States, which is a model of decentralization of power, no state can exercise, excessive power as there are limitations and regulation from other states. Therefore, decentralization will go a long way in ensuring that power lies with the people and smaller units and non wholly with the government. Moreover, decentrali zation of government provides an opportunity and facilitation of sustainable local development. In his report Manzer (1974) notes that, devolution enhances local economies through retention and utilization of local resources in local development unlike in a centralized system of government whereby all the resources are concentrated in the capital from where they are now shared to the country. This inconveniences local economies which produce more, but cannot utilize the resources as the central government does not allow that. Therefore, the decentralized system of government not only protects the local resources, but likewise utilizes them in the development of the local governments. This facilitates the local economies, thereby creating more employment in the local areas.Additionally, efficiency is another tombstone aspect that the decentralized form of government has unlike the centralized form of government. Due to smaller and manageable populations covered by the local governm ents, the issues to be address are also fewer unlike in a centralized government. As a result the local governments are affordable and easy to conserve due to their smaller nature. The small nature of the local governments reduces bureaucracy and ensure quick passing of laws unlike in the centralized government. Local governments are also may respond quickly to any problem as there are fewer people involved in passing a resolving power and hence they are able to adapt more easily to emerging issues.Oneil (2010)According to the United Nations military man organic evolution Report People and Governance (1993), decentralized governments make it easier for the citizens to access the government for services. This gives citizens an opportunity to participate in the political processes of their local area. In doing so, the citizens are able to voice their concerns easily and participate in the running of their local area. Its very difficult or almost impossible for the common citizenry which is the majority to voice their concerns or access the national government bodies. This signifies that a concern may take a lot of time in order to construct the concerned parties or not reach at all due the inaccessibility of a centralized government. In addition, decentralization improves service delivery in the local governments as the citizens can easily participate and suggest on how they receive their services, and how they would wish to be served. This further gives the local government a platform of rating and improving its service delivery mechanisms to the society.Devolved system of governance ensures that there are transparency and openness in service delivery and governance of the respective local area government. This is highlighted in the United Nations Human Development Report People in Community Organizations(1993) which deduces that, due to the localized and small structure of the local governments, there is a high likelihood of right ethical standards as it i s easy to find those engaging in corruption and other unethical malpractices. Decentralization also offers the opportunity for a member of the cultivated societies in the respective areas to play a watchdog role of examining transactions and also questioning on the use of public resources but more significantly on all matters that are of great interest to the citizenry.Lastly, it is clearly evident that decentralized or devolved government is a driver of sustainable development as it gives more power to the citizens rather than the national government. This devolution of power encourages citizens to participate more in the politics and governance of the local governments. Moreover, decentralization improves efficiency of the government as the local governments are small and deals with smaller populations. Despite the centralized government having some advantages, the devolved form of government out weighs it in almost each aspect. Therefore, it is wise to say that devolution empow ers and benefits more people as compared to the centralized system of government and should therefore be embraced in order to serve the citizens ruin and in a more better way.ReferencesHuman Development Report, (2013). Inventory system theoretical framework Essay

2.1 IntroductionThe theoretical framework gives information about concepts, together with their definition which be employd in the proposed formation. This chapter will be giving the birth of the existing theories given below to the proposed system.2.2 Transaction Processing SystemA transaction processing system, or TPS, is a system to capture and process the exact information necessary to update selective information on the fundamental operations of an organization. A transaction is essenti bothy a single event that changes something. There argon many different types of transactions. For example, customer orders, receipts, invoices, payments, etc. The actual processing of transactions includes the collection, editing, manipulation and storage of data. The result of processing a transaction is that the records of an organization are updated to reflect the new conditions at the time of the last processed transaction. http//education-portal.com/academy/lesson/transaction-processi ng-systems-tpsTPS will be the type of structure of the proposed system where it terminate attend to the possessor and staff to process large amount of items data in the company and to process of transactions in the customer.2.3 Inventory Management parcel productInventory management software is a computer-based system for tracking inventory levels, orders, sales and deliveries. It mess excessively be used in the manufacturing industry to manufacture a work order, bill of materials and other production-related documents. Companies use inventory management software to avoid product overstock and outages. It is a tool for organizing inventory data that before was generally stored in hard-copy form or in spreadsheets. It is often associated with and is similar to distribution software, as distributors that can compete with less cash level(p) up in inventories have a distinct advantage over their competitors.http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inventory_management_softwareThe proposed sy stem is inventory management software for Miguels Home Merchandise. This is the software where can be store and monitor items data.2.4 Point of Sale (POS)Point of sale (also called POS or checkout, during computerization later becoming electronic menstruum of sale or EPOS) is the place where a retail transaction is completed. It is the point at which a customer makes a payment to the merchant in mass meeting for goods or services. At the point of sale the retailer would calculate the amount owed by the customer and provide options for the customer to make payment. The merchant will also normally issue a receipt for the transaction. http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_of_saleThe proposed system will provide a point of sale system for Miguels Home Merchandise. It will help the company for faster and organize customer transaction.2.5 Microsoft Office entranceMicrosoft Access, also known as Microsoft Office Access, is a database management system from Microsoft that combines the resem blanceal Microsoft pip-squeak Database Engine with a graphical drug user interface and software- learning tools. It is a member of the Microsoft Office suite of natural coverings, included in the professional and higher editions or exchange separately. Microsoft Access stores data in its own format based on the Access Jet Database Engine. It can also import or link at present to data stored in other applications and databases.Software developers and data architects can use Microsoft Access to develop application software, and power users can use it to build software applications. Like other Office applications, Access is supported by opthalmic Basic for Applications, an object-oriented schedule language that can reference a variety of objects including DAO (Data Access Objects), ActiveX Data Objects, and many other ActiveX components. Visual objects used in forms and reports expose their manners and properties in the VBA programming environment, and VBA code modules may dec lare and callWindows operating system functions. http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_AccessMicrosoft Office Access will be the database management system that the proponents will be using to store and monitor all items information and also use for saving all reports.2.6 Visual Basic 6.0Visual Basic is a programming language and development environment created by Microsoft. It is an extension of the BASIC programming language that combines BASIC functions and commands with visual controls. Visual Basic provides a graphical user interface GUI that allows the developer to drag and drop objects into the program as well(p) as manually write program code.Visual Basic, also referred to as VB, is designed to make software development easy and efficient, while still creation powerful enough to create advanced programs. For example, the Visual Basic language is designed to be human readable, which means the source code can be understood without requiring lots of comments. The Visual Basic program also includes features like IntelliSense and Code Snippets, which automatically generate code for visual objects added by the programmer. Another feature, called AutoCorrect, can debug the code while the program is running.Programs created with Visual Basic can be designed to run on Windows, on the Web, within Office applications, or on mobile devices. Visual Studio, the most comprehensive VB development environment, or IDE, can be used to create programs for all these mediums. Visual Studio .NET provides development tools to create programs based on the .NET framework, such as ASP.NET applications, which are often deployed on the Web. Finally, Visual Basic is available as a streamlined application that is used primarily by beginning developers and for educational. http//www.techterms.com/definition/visualbasicVisual Basic 6.0 is providing GUI and it is easily to use because of its drag and drop function. It would be use for all the process of the Miguels Home Merchandise. According to history VB 1.0 was introduced in 1991. Thedrag and drop design for creating the user interface is derived from a prototype form reference develop by Alan Cooper and his company called Tripod. Microsoft contracted with cooper and his associates to develop Tripod into a programmable form system for Windows 3.0, under the code name Ruby (no relation to the Ruby programming language)Tripod did not include a programming language at all. Microsoft decided to combine Ruby with the Basic language to create Visual Basic. The Ruby interface generator provided the visual part of Visual Basic and this was combined with the EB Embedded BASIC engine designed for Microsofts abandoned zed database system. Ruby also provided the ability to load dynamic link libraries containing additional controls (the called gizmoz), which later became the VBX interface.2.7 MethodologySoftware prototyping refers to the activity of creating prototypes of software applications, incomplete versions of th e software program being developed. It is an activity that can occur in software development and is comparable to prototyping as known from other fields, such as mechanical engineering science or manufacturing.http//istqbexamcertification.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Prototyping-model.jpg Figure 1 Prototyping ModelProponents choose this type of methodology because this type of method can improve the quality and efficiency of the proposed system by testing the code and module in integration testing repeatedly to find the errors in the system before to go to the acceptance and installation, deployment and go to maintenance. This method requires the involvement of the user and they can tell and interact or to give feedback to the development team and know what to change in the system. The development team and the user feedback can provide more changes and improvements in the system.2.8 SummaryIn summary, inventory management software and point of sale would be the goal of the propos ed system. It would include the all process of companywherein the proponents will be making an Inventory System with POS for Miguels Home Merchandise. The proponents will be making use of the following software to come up with the system Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft Access for the database.

Working Conditions for Children During Industrial Revolution

Working Conditions of Children During the Industrial Revolution During the beginning of the industrial revolution there was a high demand for labour. Families travelled from coarse farm areas to newly industrialized and larger cities in hope of finding new work. To survive even in the lowest class of poverty families would digest had to have every single able family member working, this includes children. Children as young as six were put to work in factories. They worked for up too 19 hours a day with only one hours break in total.Work was hard and the children were often paid barely anything. These fragile human beings were frequently overworked, underpaid and ill set for a long time. They didnt have small jobs either their jobs were physically intense and required a lot of effort and strength. With little medical experience in comparison to today these children were prevented from growing healthily and naturally. Deformedness was common amongst many of the children due to the high amount of physical exertion performed by them.Their growth was slowed fine-tune and they suffered in multiple other ways. The treatment of children in factories was horrendous to say the least. They were verbally abused and little care was payed to their safety and wellbeing. Sever punishments were also in place for the slightest disobedience. It was incredibly unsafe to work in the factory environment due to the large machineries used, which very often proved a hazard to the children. With the long machines fingers and body parts of theses skinny children could often result in deaths due to serious injuries or accidents.Sometimes children fell asleep from working excessive hours and occasionally the cut down force of the machines would just crush them. In factories that were unsanitary there was harsh exposure to dangerous chemicals and toxins consistently. Some children died from excessive inhalation of the fumes. Children who worked in coalmines often died from explosions and injuries. overall there was extreme difficulty faced with being a child and having to grow up working during the industrial revolution.

Hobbes Vs Rousseau

Thomas Hobbes imagined pronounce of nature is full of masterless custody (p. 140). Jean Jacque Rousseaus imagined conjure of nature is full of radically independent, solitary individuals who argon innocent of good and offensive. How does Hobbes come to that finding about firearm in the state of nature? On what kinds of evidence does he rely? How does Rousseau come to his conclusion about individuals in the state of nature. On what kind of argu custodyts does he rely? Compargon and contrast their imagined states of nature making sure you reference the evidence they overhear upon to build heir argument. It is important to remember when relating Hobbes and Rousseau and their ideas of the inhering state that they are non speaking of the same thing. Hobbes defines the state of nature as the time when men lived without a common power. Men would constantly be at war with each other, and the elements around them. There would be no laws or authority and without them, men would remem ber that everything is theirs. It is very similar to the mindset of a child. Children are not born with a natural inclination to share. That is something that parents must teach them as they grow.Greed is by nature instilled in men and because of this men demand been fighting and violent even before societies were developed. Men were fghting, stealing, and murdering each other for survival. Rousseau argues with Hobbes. Rousseau describes a hypothetical time when golf-club did not exist and men only acted on their natural instincts which were peaceful and timid. Men would not excite any sense of right and wrong because they had not been form by participations standards yet. Hobbes states that in the state of nature men would be fearful and greedy and because of this it was necessary for societies to exist.Humans need protection from each other because instinctually we are violent and pose a threat to others. Men naturally crave property and self-preservation and in this environ ment peace is not assertable. When men come unneurotic to form societies social contracts are necessary to guarantee the protection of rights of each man. Once a social contract is established man gave his rights over to the sovereign. A social contract is an understanding in which multiple individuals come together and give their rights to one man.Once the individuals give their rights over them become one sovereign. The rights and rotection of a maven individual is no longer important only the protection of the sovereign as a whole. This is when men could begin to live their lives without fear. Once order was imparted on the pile or a society they would live in harmony with each or be forced to chair. If this occurs that individual would no longer be under the protection of the sovereign. Hobbes believes that in that respect are three principles that cause violence competition, glory, and difference. If one man sees another with an item that he craves competition will abridg e over and he will take the item using force or other means. Glory drives a man to be superior. Without a incorruptible authority established one will be driven to be the most powerful. Rousseau disagrees with Hobbes and insists that in the state of nature the only factor is survival. In this shield I believe that Hobbes is thinking too much from a society stand point and he is also contradicting himselt. Society molds us into competing tor glory. In the state ot nature this would not be the case.Hobbes and Rousseau both agree that in the state of nature reason and inequality do not exist yet and it would not be possible for man to understand that he should be more powerful than another. If inequality does not exist then it ould not be possible for one man to be more powerful then another. In Rousseaus natural state men are solitary, timid, and greed doesnt exist because society has not lessened their innocence yet. Rousseau believes that human nature is inherently good and it wa snt until societies began to establish that humans instincts became corrupted. When man is in its natural state they are solitary and have no sense of ownership over anything. They struggle with their environment and their natural conditions. Individuals are looking out for themselves and self- preservation is guiding them, Just as in Hobbes natural state, however Rousseau says here is no violence between them. Rousseau compares man to animals by saying man needs to satisfy their physical needs for survival, however we have a natural repugnance for seeing others in pain. Because of this we would never harm another person for our own selfish desires.Language does not exist yet because people are solitary and keep to themselves. Because of this reason does not exist. Without reason there is no Jealously, inequality, or other negative emotions that lead to violence. This seems too optimistic to be accurate. Compassion would exist to an extent but self-preservation will always be more of a priority. If a man has to cause pain to another because there are limited resources then so be it. For example, lets say it was winter and a man found a small cave. There was already person else in there and it was only big enough to fit one.Rousseau believes that since men have no sense of ownership, and are solitary creatures that one would simply leave because they dont have to reasoning to think, l was here first, so it is mine. Hobbes would say that men are violent and greedy and in this situation violence would occur. Men are born with a natural instinct to survive and because of this both men would fght over shelter. Humans would not do harm Just to be evil because good and evil would not exist yet. Once families started to form humans had more time to do other activities and with this came reason and inequality.Rousseau gives the example of a leaping around a fire. One man will look at another and see that this man is bigger than another and reason would lead him to be lieve that one must be better than the other. Once inequality is established man has a need to be more powerful then another. other factor that leads to inequality is the ownership of land. Rousseau states, The first man who, having fenced in a piece of land, said This is mine, and ound people naive enough to believe him, that man was the confessedly founder of civil society. From how many crimes, wars, and murders, from how many horrors and misfortunes might not any one have saved mankind, by pulling up the stakes, or choice up the ditch, and crying to his fellows Beware of listening to this impostor you are undone if you once forget that the fruits of the earth belong to us all, and the earth itself to nobody. Once man owns land and inequality has set in men will become greedy and want more believing that owning land is a symbol of power. manhood ill begin to want more wealth and glory and this is when violence starts. The natural instincts of being solitary and peaceful have b een corrupted by the society and humans have now been molded into greedy power hungry people. Rousseau states, l must make everyone see that bonds ot servitude are tormed trom the mutual dependence of men. It is hopeless to slave a man without first putting him in the positions of being unable to do without another person. Rousseau believes that when men live alone they cannot be corrupted because they rely on no one but themselves for survival.Once men come together and form families and societies they become enslaved by dependence into that society. After looking at both ideas I believe that Hobbes is not most accurate in his thinking. Rousseau has an optimistic, humanist way of looking at men, but I believe that it doesnt question how far back in history one goes, men were always violent, greedy, fearful creatures. Just because reason didnt exist does not mean that men wouldnt have a wanting for resources that werent theirs. Men may not have been able to reason why they wanted something, but the greed was still there.Society and social contracts did not cause or mold our greediness, and violence like Rousseau believes. Those instincts were instilled in men from the beginning as a way of survival. It is impossible to have any authoritative truth over who is right in this argument. Once man has been civilized the effects cannot be reversed. We would never be able to go back to the state of nature and this is why the debate is still continuing today. Nature vs. nurture is a topic that is debated today because it is impossible to know for sure what is instinct and what has been molded by our society.

Money and its supply

Increasing money in supply can lead to ostentatiousness where the general prices of goods and go rise dramatically. This erodes the purchasing power of a currency and the value of other monetary items. Moreover, this may create uncertainty among investors concerning future pretentiousness and this reduces saving and investment. Lastly, inflation makes lending institutions to stop lending or charge high interest rates because of its declining value. Reducing money in circulation so as to curb inflation may lead to price decline of goods and services and consumers would horde out their money hoping that it will increase in value in the future. When consumers stop spending, travail of goods declines making businesses to make losses leading to unemployment. Borrowing becomes prohibitive since businesses argon forced to spend more when servicing the debt. Government and stability of its currency The political science can maintain a stable currency by ensuring that the monetary policy i s effective and efficient. The exchange rate system should not be controlled and the apparent motion of currency in and out f the country should not be restricted by the government. Both monetary and pecuniary policies should be stable so as to ensure that the rate of inflation does fluctuate unnecessarily. This will insulate the legal tender from global economic shocks. The government can use fiscal policies by regulating spending and taxation to increase economic growth during low inflation and high unemployment, and lower it during low unemployment and high inflation (Hanke, 2003). Factors that would counterbalance a stable currency include regulation of the exchange rate of a currency or the movement of the currency in and out of the country. In addition, increasing money in circulation when economic growth is stagnant would lower the value of the currency and create inflation. Emerging economy and a wealthy countryThe impartiality of comparative payoff argues that, nations c an benefit from trade by engaging in trade even when one country lacks absolute advantage in producing goods being traded. For example, Mundania and Lalaland are two nations each producing both jackets and sandals. Mundania is efficient and produces 100 jackets and 140 sandal every hour compared to Lalaland who make 80 jackets and 60 sandals per hour. Mundania enjoys absolute advantage in production of both goods. Working 40hrs per week, both countries produce 180 x 40hrs = 7200 units of jackets and 200 x 40 = 8000 unit of sandals. However, if factor cost in production of jackets in mundania is more efficient compared to Lalaland, Mundania would concentrate solely in jacket production. The 40 hours spent in sandals production would enable production of 8000 jackets in Mundania per week. Moreover, Lalaland would concentrate on sandals production and increase production to 8000 per week. Jacket production not only remains stable but increases considerably because of specialization. Cou ntry rank Kenyas competitiveness has stagnated over the past year and several policies ought to be enacted to improve its performance. It has improved in its capacity to innovate through research and ontogenesis and collaborating well the institutions of scientific research to those in business field. To enhance competitiveness, I would improve both the education sector and job training skills so as to increase the number of skilled workers. The countrys economy has reformed considerably with a considerable portion being sustained by the pecuniary market due to increased access to loans and development of the stock market. This is in line with the findings of world Economic Forum (2009-2010)This sector needs more permit through reduction of bureaucracies and enhancing transparency. Moreover, public institutions have been known to be inefficient as a result of corruption and this need to be addressed urgently. Anti-corruption situation should be established and given power to prose cute corrupt officials. I would also uplift the living standard of people by ensuring the health facilities are accessible to all and increase housing sector by seeking international aid to construct affordable houses especially in urban areas to obviate growth of shanties and overcrowding.

Why Did Henry Break from Rome in 1534?

Why did enthalpy plunder from Rome in 1534? There are numerous debates to why Henry skint with Rome. In this essay I am going to show you the main causal agencys why Henry stony-broke with Rome and which wiz I think is most important. I think the most important reason why Henry broke with Rome was because he cute power. The reason he wanted power was because it would solve all in all his problems. In a textbook it said, Henry also wanted to control the church service. Since medieval times thither have been struggles over whether priests should listen to the King or the pope.Henry wanted to control the church in his own country. Henry knew that if he could control the church, he would be able to use the churchs money as he was bankrupt. Also, if he had power he would be able to divorce Catherine of Aragon, and link up the sleep together of his life, Anne Boleyn. Then Anne Boleyn would be able to give Henry an heir. Once Henry had control of the Church, he persecuted those who opposed him. He horizontal cut off the he head of his close friend, Thomas More, because More wouldnt accept Henry as head of the Church. This evidence, from a textbook, show that Henry was greedy for power and would belt down anyone who got in his way. As you can see, power gave Henry everything he needed and thats why I think Henry broke with Rome. Another reason to why Henry broke from Rome because of his desire for a son. He wanted this so that the Tudor dynasty could continue. Henry knew Catherine of Aragon had now chance of giving him a son. She has had lots of miscarriages and still births. If he broke from Rome he could divorce Catherine and get married Anne Boleyn who had more chance of giving him a son. Catherines last motherhood had been in 1518. Henry didnt stop sleeping with her until 1524 when he was sure Catherine wouldnt give him a son. As you can see, this shows Henry would do anything for a son and thats why Henry broke with Rome. The next reason to why Henry broke with Rome was because he wanted to marry the love of his life, Anne Boleyn. Henry loved Anne so much he even wrote love letters to her, despise how much he hates writing. One of the love letters said Since I parted with you I have been advised that the opinion in which I left you is now altogether changed, and that you will not come to court the which newspaper publisher being true I cannot enough marvel at, seeing that I am well assured I have never since that time affiliated fault. This love letter sows that Henry is trying to show off to Anne Boleyn. But to make Anne Boleyn his wife he needed a divorce which meant he had to break from Rome. This shows that Henry broke with Rome to marry Anne Boleyn who he thinks is the love of his life.Another reason to why Henry broke with Rome was because he had problems with the church. Henry was jealous because the Pope had control over the churches in England. Also, the Pope wouldnt give Henry a divorce from Catherine because it was against the Christian laws. This was one of the main reasons that Henry broke from Rome. Henry wanted to choose the archbishops and priests of the churches. There was already a rivalry between the pope and Henry but when the pope said no to the divorce, it made it even worse. As you can see, the rivalry between the Pope and the King was enough for Henry to break from Rome. The next reason is that Henry was bankrupt. He used all his money on very expensive wars in Europe and had no money left. If he broke with Rome, he could use all the money the church had. So from 1536-39 Henry closed down all the churchs so he could use their money. As you can see, Henry only broke from Rome so he could use the churchs money. The last reason that Henry broke from Rome was because of his conscience. In the bible it clearly states that if you marry your brothers wife, in Henrys case Catherine of Aragon, they shall be without children.Thinking this was why Catherine didnt give him a son Henry wanted t o marry Anne, so the curse would be broken. But to divorce, Henry needed the Popes permission which he didnt have. Thats why he broke from Rome. As you can see there are many reasons to why Henry broke with Rome. I think the main reason was because he wanted power. Power would solve all his problems from financial things to an heir. Thats why I think that the main reason of why Henry broke from Rome was because he wanted power.

If it will make me feel stronger, and better than for you I will my son The Great doctor looked at his spawn with such relief in his eyes, finally he will try and get better with my help.He kissed his father on the forehead and then left into the house, with his wife, still waiting at the door with a cup of tea. The next morning Rakesh got up and brought his dad his morning tea, not in just any cup, merely in the old adult males favorite brass tumbler. As Rakesh arrived to his father he did not look so well, so pale in the face, so much fear in hi m. Rakesh put the pillows behind his fathers back so he could sit up. Papa, how are you feeling today, you take upt look so swell he said with sadness in his voice. In silence, Varma took the cup of tea from his son and took a sip.He then removed the pillows from behind him so he was lying flat again, closed his eyes, and peacefully fell back to sleep. Veena, Papas daughter-in law, fixed up some lunch for the old man, nothing special since Rakesh has order he had nothing fried, no butter, no oil. Veena came into the room with the stainless steel tray of food, some dry bread, boiled lentils, boiled vegetables, and some plane old boiled fish. His daughter-in law put the tray on his lap turned around, and slipped silently out of the room with a little smirk that only the old man saw, and hated. No No No Rakesh yelled. This cant be happening He raced upstairs to his father, crying he was, he took his fathers hand and said Im sorry papa, I shouldnt have given you that tonic. The next morning the ceremony for the old man was held, friends, family all gathered around, celebrating Varmas life. Rakesh got up went to the end of his fathers casket and bowed to his feet, just one last time.

Directory Viruses

There are many ways to demoralize a computer. Some malicious programs create software that mechanically replicates itself and spreads throughout a computers commove trunk to destroy it later. One of these virus types is called the Directory Virus. From its name itself, one can know that it attacks the directory and file system of a computer. The computer uses a large file that contains information about its subdirectories and files. It includes information such as the first cluster, the name, the time and date it was created or modified, attributes such as being read-only, and anformer(a)(prenominal) information.Every time a file needs to be accessed, it searches for the directory entry and the starting cluster, an index to the File exclusivelyocation Table or FAT. All the other cluster addresses are in the FAT. So a Directory Virus infects clusters and allocates it in the FAT. It then targets other clusters and infects other files. The destructive code is usually with execut able files such as the ones ending with . EXE or . COM. The view or paths to the computers files will then be changed by the Directory Virus so that it can infect other files. This will be done transparently, without the users knowledge, until the original files will be impossible to find. Eventually, the users files become useless (Spam Laws, 2009). In May 1991, the DIR II virus was discovered first in Bulgaria. It is withal known as spook Death and was written by the same programmers who coded the DIR, MG and Shake viruses. At that time, it was considered to be unique since directory viruses were hitherto unknown. It changed directory entries only and did not change the files (Hypponen, 2010).It was eventually followed by variants such as the DIR III and DIR bypath viruses. The BYWAY virus appeared first in mid 1995 in Venezuala, but was possibly authored by a Chinese programmer named Wai Chan since the code is signed By Wai Chan (PR Newswire, 1995). It is similar to the DIR I I family of viruses but alters the technique slightly by modifying directories and cross linking executable files to point to a file named CHKLISTx. MSx, containing the viral code (Paris, 2010).The BYWAY virus has an provoke story since it reveals that people from different countries often disguise themselves using other countries. The Chinese search engine, Baidu, for pattern was attacked by malware that showed an Iranian flag, but Baidu doubts that it was Iranian. They believe that it was American hackers who did it. In the same way, the BYWAY virus claims that it was authored by Wai Chan on August 1994. And then when the virus is triggered, it pops out a message saying, Trabajemos Todos Por Venezuela which means, We are all functional for Venezuela. It also plays music simultaneously, mimicking the Venezuelan national anthem. But it is likely that the real author is neither Venezuelan nor Chinese since crooks are not likely to leave their calling cards at the scene of the crime . It is also possible to remove the virus without using disinfecting software. Simply rename all . COM and . EXE files with non-executable extensions. The virus will automatically correct the FAT. Then reboot using a clean boot disk to remove the virus in memory, and rename everything back to its executable extensions.Do this for all hard disk partitions and the virus will be removed. Unfortunately, because viruses are popularly known to wreak havoc on computers, there is an urban myth propagating in the world that every time a PC doesnt work properly, it is always caused by a virus (Rutter, 1999). However, the fact is that not all PC problems are caused by viruses. There may be producer bugs in the software or incompatibility issues with the hardware or software. Or the computer may only if be malfunctioning like any other electronic device that eventually fails.

Bacon

Of Studies by Francis Bacon An analytic thinking The purpose of this work is to analyze cardinal Century Francis Bacons essay Of Studies by summarizing its main points and the relevance of its statements to this day. Francis Bacon was an English Philosopher and writer best cognise as a founder of the modern empirical tradition based on the rational analysis of data obtained by observation and experimentation of the physical world. The main focus of Bacons essay rests on explaining to the reader the importance of chew over knowledge in terms of its practical application towards the individual and its society. His head start analysis is an exposition on the purposes or uses that different individuals net have by approaching prove for delight, ornament, and for ability- And how certain professions atomic number 18 better served by individuals with study knowledge. As he mentions the virtues of record he also points out its vices To spend too much season in study is sloth likew ise, how Study influences our understanding of Nature, and in opposition, how our experience of Nature bounds our acquired knowledge. After that, the Author presents the concept of how different individuals with different psychic abilities and interests in life, approach the idea of studying Crafty men contemn studies- and offers advice on how study should be applied but to weight and consider- Then Bacon goes into expressing his ideas in how the means to acquire study knowledge, books, elicit be categorized and read according to their content and value to the individual. The benefits of studying are Bacons final exam approach.Benefits in terms of defining a Man by its ability to read, write or confer, and in terms of being the medicine for any impediment in the wit and by giving gross to every defect of the mind. Certainly, just about of Francis Bacons insights in this subject are of value aft(prenominal) 400 years of societal evolution. We can ascertain this when we read the ph rase They perfect Nature, and are better by experience Nevertheless some of the concepts expressed in his Essay have to be silent through and through the glass of clipping.By this I mean Society values and concepts were different altogethers to what we know today. By that time Society was strongly influenced by the idea of literacy and illiteracy (relatively few were educated and could read and write). Only educated people had access to knowledge and by that, to social status and opportunity. Nowadays would be difficult to accede ideas which relate skills or professions towards an attitude to approach studying. Today, a skilled machinist or carpenter can certainly be a studied person.Nowadays most people in our Society have the possible action to read and by that, to obtain knowledge independently of what our personal choices are in terms of profession. Also we must consider how today we value the specialization of knowledge which in the past, characterized by a much generic and limited access to knowledge, wasnt a major factor into the conceptualization and understanding of study knowledge as to the extent we see it today. Finally, it is doubtful that the benefits of studying can be approached as a recipe for any intellectual illness. We now know that the real illnesses are related to amiable conditions and not necessarily to our mental skills, abilities or lack of them and by that I mean that Bacons solutions to those conditions are substantially naive under the actual understanding of Human Psychology. Concepts and ideas evolve at the same time as the Human condition changes in all social, scientific, political and economic aspects. By looking through the glass of time and comparing the past to the present we come to the realization of the universality and endurance of some concepts and the fragility and impermanence of some others.

Poverty and Education

OMAR BANDEH 2122369 ENG 102 PROFESSOR LAWSON Topic Outline Thesis Education is the approximately powerful apparatus that can get under singles skin positive changes in a partnership. I. Empower an separate to be a skilful example citizen A. Educate him about his Rights B. Develop his self-importance esteem II. Poverty alleviation A. Wide range of theorize opportunities B. Living standards increased C. Reduction in crime rate III. Eradicate Disease A. How to avoid it B. How to pass over it C.How to live with it THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION IN A SOCIETY Every nation especially triad world countries should invest a substantial amount of their budget on gentility for it is the most valuable asset that could transform an entire smart set. It was said by Aristotle that educated men are as a lot superior to the uneducated as the quick are to the dead if that is so then an uneducated society is as good as a dead society. After all education is the most powerful arm that can b ring positive changes in a society, it is the provided weapon that can empower an individual in particular and a whole society in general, alleviate poverty and eradicate disease. The first of all aim of education is to empower an individual to be a model citizen and for that to happen he essential know his rights and responsibilities. Without education, man is a splendid slave knowing not the difference between good and bad or his rights such as his freedom of speech, worship and movement, for only the educated are free.Free to settle decisions, to face life, and to accept successes and failures. More over education is the only tool that can develop ones personality, his self esteem and confidence for it is a combination of these that gives a person the ability to stand up against dictatorship and oppression of any form. In a complex modern democracy, citizens must be educated for them to be able to participate in a nations democratic and developmental process. For example if N elson Mandela was not educated he would not have been able to challenge the apartheid government thereby helping to bring it, to its end and in the process making the whole of South Africa free and colour blind. Secondly, the role of education in poverty eradication is crucial. There is overwhelming evidence that education is the one tool that children from inadequate families can use to break the cycle of poverty in which they are born in.A poor husbandmans son has the same opportunities to that of a presidents son if he is educated, for education provides the cognition and skill with which an individual can use to get a job and earned a living on his own. It is only with an affordable education that a societys poverty can be undertaked and its living standards increased. And because poverty is a multidimensional social problem once it is taken wangle of, high crime and prostitution pass judgment will dramatically reduced. Finally, disease, the one thing that can excrete an e ntire society especially an uneducated one.For education provides knowledge about diseases, how to treat them and most importantly how to avoid them. For example diseases such as HIV/AIDS have blighted entire societies in places like Uganda and South Africa before people knew what it is and how it can be avoided. Now, after much sensitization the rates of HIV/AIDS infection have reduced dramatically and those already infected have been adequately educated on how to live with the disease in such a way that life prevision of an Aids patient have increased compare to before. In addition, the availability of education in a society informs them the use of being hygienic and how to maintain high hygienic standards such as washing ones hand after using the toilet and also before eating which has help to reduce the prevalence of diseases such as cholera and diarhoea. Therefore, to conclude, the impact of investing in education is profound for it is the only tool that can positively change a society by empowering it, lifting it out of poverty and most important of all enabling its people to live longer healthily.

Homework Essay

Chapter 51. Describe how we measure the clinical performance of an HCO as a whole? For example, can you aggregate good performance in cardiology and poor performance in obstetrics, and verify overall, performance is honest? It depends on how measurement is being done. If a scorecard is used, yes the performance could be aggregated. However, the criminal record mentions moving the departments off the scorecard that do not take in improvements and focusing on the departments that arent doing sanitary or need improvement in certain areas. Scorecards are beneficial in showing overall performance but can similarly be evaluated to see which departments are not meeting or exceeding the benchmark. If measurement was on a department basis and one was not doing well, that department would need to focus on the developmental areas in order to say that performance is good. Overall means an average or an overview. Its not specific to one department but an average of all. One could beetle o ff and others exceed in which overall performance would be average.Chapter 61. Describe how an institution can stop up that its health check faculty plan is realistic? List the specific steps you think would be important, and which would look at a reassuring checklist when presented to physicians and to the governing board. An institution needs to measure input and output to effectively staff the facility. Input can be measured by patient arrivals and appointment requests (request for disturbance). Output can be measured by patients treated, cost per case, quality and access. The physician organization also assists in providing excellent care by recruiting and retaining physicians necessary to provide this care. Physician supply should remain open to leave and come as the community demand raises and lowers. However, it is more effective to be strategic in planning the staffing needs. Too large-minded leaves physicians underworked. Too small leaves physicians overworked. A medi cal staff plan should be enforced to protect physiciansagainst saucily competitors.2. Medical staff leadership Why should medical staff leadership be appointed by and accountable to the governing board, as opposed to being selected entirely by the medical staff or by the executive? To avoid tax situations, the board mustiness remain nonphysicians (pg 205). Also the board must vote for what is in the best interest of the community. If there were several physicians on the board or the medical staff or executive appointed this, it would be considered a conflict of interest because itd be harder for the medical staff to do whats in the best interest of the community rather than whats in the best interest of the physicians.3. What is the goal of communication with physicians? How is that goal attained in large organizations? The flavor of the communication network is to identify potential conflicts in advance, analyze and understand them (pg 205). PITs, surveys and organizational gui delines and processes are implemented to help resolve these issues. Bylaws are also set and used to describe rights and obligations of each party. They are also used to encourage negotiations and conflict resolution (pg 206).
